A free online retreat for white Christian folks.

"Racism can well be that corrosive evil that will bring down the curtain on Western civilization. …If Western civilization does not now respond constructively to the challenge to banish racism, some future historian will have to say that a great civilization died because it lacked the soul and commitment to make justice a reality for all men."Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The work of dismantling racism is first and foremost a spiritual task. As the author Isabel Wilkerson has observed, “This moment we’re in is not just a social crisis and not just a political crisis. It’s a spiritual crisis.”

Rooting Out Racism is a 10-day, pray-at-your-own-pace online retreat made up of daily streaming audio reflections and prayer prompts that invite white people to search their souls, understand how we got here, and prayerfully consider how God might be inviting you to respond.

You will be guided by an ecumenical group of Christian leaders and teachers. You are invited to spend 20-30 minutes in daily prayer over the course of the retreat using Ignatian wisdom and spiritual practices to help you repent, lament, and uproot the evils of racism.

“Thank you for this gift to the world - and for inviting me back into spiritual practice.”
